A very wholesome war story! Definitely love hearing about these kinds of tales, really showcases the human element of war and the individual aspect.

No Sabaton comments, huh? No bullets fly, anyone?
German pilot was 1 kill away from the Iron Cross btw, which makes his act even more incredible.

I'm not an expert, but US military classification usually expires after a certain number of years. So 50 years later, it was ok to talk about what happened.

To the part about propaganda.

I think that the entire US population wouldn't stop fighting the 2nd worst regime of that century just because the enemy showed mercy.

Things like the Biscary massacre however can make one think if those all of those people deserve to die just because they got conscripted into the army of one of the worst regimes ever.

How about you can do a analysis from the "outlands" for the band and song "Rammstein - Deutschland" its a song by a band, thats is very controversial since decades.. and this song sums up the whole german history in nearly 15 minutes. would be insane! There are some dudes who tryed to translate it but it isnt 100% correct, but even than you maybe understand that.
