Why People Love Authoritarians

There are two main schools of thought that explain why some people love and support dictators, fascism, and other types of authoritarianism. One has to do with safety and the other with biology. Here's a deeper explanation of each.

does not explain why 1/3 of population is "hard wired" to accept Authoritarianism. only that this tendency gets stronger or revealed in times of economic uncertainty and/or perceived threat. I'd like to know why that 3rd of the pop leans towards dictators in the first place.

America is not authoritarian domestically but is internationally, people tend to ignore the latter and that is why nations are embracing authoritarian to counter America’s international authoritarian.

I think education plays a large part. If you have knowledge of history, it becomes difficult to believe that dictatorship is ever a good option.

One thing I think that is missed is because some want power for themselves by complying with authoritarian power or dictators it reaps a reward in their created system even if it’s a corrupt system.

When an authoritarian is in power others might comply because of fear.. fear of penalty’s - even if they are penalised for doing the morally right thing and incentivised for doing the morally wrong thing.

Like any system of government, authoritarian governments aren’t bad by themselves it’s the decisions and motivations of these governments that cause the problems. There are a lot of advantages that aren’t present in a liberal democracy

Its a matter of cultural values brought by families such as religion, or old family habits.

Some of the biggest things leftist criticized Trump for were his lack of authoritarianism, such as his state's rights position on covid tyranny. The left wanted centralized authoritarian control. Even when far-leftist violence took over cities throughout 2020, he never went anywhere close to authoritarian, even though the law would have allowed much more authoritarianism. Those were two massive opportunities to abuse power and he took advantage of either. Yet they mindlessly repeated him calling him a tyrant because the media/education/political/pop culture establishment endlessly propagated that message, no matter how little substance they had to support it. He also didn't support robbing normal citizens of their right to own guns and defend themselves, which is the first goal of every true authoritarian and a major goal of Biden's admin. Leftists also support medical tyranny, globally centralized power (and the dissolving of nations--at the very least western ones), the literal fascist melding of gov/business to advance the unconstitutionally authoritarian goals of the government, government/corporate spying on American citizens, robbing their political enemies of freedom of speech, and mass mob violence to enforce social 'justice.' It's very clear who in America is more authoritarian at this point in history. Nation-scale socialism is by its very nature necessarily authoritarian.

MOST people respect and support authoritarians. Most people admire dictators and despots because freedom is an illusion. Most people don't want to be free to make their own decisions, have freedom of the mind and the freedom to write their own script and pave their way to at least some brand of success, they want to be led and if they can't be led into submission from freedom by a leader then they'll seek out their own entrapment through fear addictions ranging from anything between media addiction, religion, dependency on recognition, validation and approval of others to alcoholism, heroin or meth addiction. Anything to keep themselves entrapped from freedom, even if their entrapment is a trap of misery and suffering. This is psychologically hardwired in humanity. This is part of the demonic matrix, part of the darkness under every rock. Part of the fire in the fabric of everything, part of the hellish tableau, the unreality we often mistakenly refer to as "reality."

I think authoritarianism should be classed as a personality disorder that results from emotional neglect in childhood by authoritarian parents. there is lots of data supporting the premise that authoritarian parenting is traumatic and significantly increase likelihood of long term mental illnesses. the authoritarian mindset is quite similar to the attitudes of toddlers .
