Miniature donkeys may be the cutest livestock we've ever seen

JF Ranch in Mount Vernon is home to a herd of more than 50 mini donkeys.

I had a magical experience with these animals just last week. I visited a donkey sanctuary although it was closed due to Covid. I hung out at the fence, softly whistling for quite awhile, and eventually one donkey came to visit with me. I touched him, and carressed him and it was just amazing, I could see that this animal really enjoyed human contact, and that this animal was quite affectionate. I left and came back an hour later, this time I whistled for him and he came right to me at the fenceline....just amazing this was. He didn't want to be fed and of course the signs told me not to feed him....but it just seemed to thoroughly enjoy having contact with me, absolutely wonderful experience this was, these are truly amazing creatures!

Donkey's are probably my favorite animal,
I live in a small town in Utah and have a donkey that lives in a field down the road from where I live and can hear it every morning around 2a.m

I do not dear to wish for a miniature donkey...last time I wished for a goat, and it manifested. I still have her inside my house now seven months later.

Lol when I took care of fifty dogs (kind of a farm where the owner saved all kinds of animals) there was this white donkey Lola she was starved when the owner first got her he spent much time in getting her to gain weight, she became very spoiled and over weight. She would do the back scratch thing but would get stuck and we'd have to go out and help roll her so she could get up thats when her diet started. She was such a sweetie, so miss them all!!!!

Good point on a 35 year mini donkey life span at the end. That's about double a dog's life. You need 2 donkeys to keep each other company and an acre of grazing land and a good barn too. Does it cost $3000-5000 per year to keep up with medical, grooming, feeding, etc ?
