Dredge's Most Dangerous Creature

Показать описание
The Gale Cliffs region in Dredge conceals a horrifying secret: the Serpent, a massive creature unleashed upon unsuspecting players. This monster's clever tactics and the initially tranquil setting make its initial attack a terrifying surprise, leaving many new players frustrated. While intriguing, it's wise to upgrade your boat elsewhere before venturing into the Gale Cliffs, where the Serpent's relentless pursuit will test your skills and your nerves.

As a person who has several hours in this game:
Trust me, it gets easier, it’s not that hard to escape once you know the layout. I ended up calling it something stupid like “Steve” so whenever it shows up I go “Hey Steve! How’s the kids?”

Detecting multiple leviathan class lifeforms in the region
Are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it?

I’ve 100% this game. I can confirm that this serpent is annoying, doing 2/3 damage to your boat without upgrades. But It is the first story area and really gets you in the spirit of the game.

1. There's a WAYYY bigger and worse fish called the Leviathan
2. If you are like even a little fast you can out run it
3. once you out run it it goes away for a while
4. the pale reach is a lot harder than Gale cliffs because of all of the tight spaces, ice blocks, and upgrades needed to just even go anywhere in the reach
5. After the first time, it's really easy to tell when he shows up because your screen goes quite red and boss music comes on

So all in all, go to gale cliffs, it's one of the easiest areas, just watch for the signs. And PLEASE play this game

Speed is key. Your first taste of dark sorcery provides bonus speed, though not without limits. After a few engine upgrades, outrunning it is not hard.

I hated that stupid Volcano mother fish more. Maybe because I hit the islands in the wrong order.

I usually just wait till I’ve gotten Banish because Twisted Strand is a nice area if your patient enough with the Mind Suckers and know where to look for the mortar cannon. That way I can just beat Gale Cliffs within two or three in game days and never have to come back into the cliffs to get the rest of the fish thanks to the power of Mixed Bait bringing out the area’s fish regardless of time

No way somebody has quit the game over that thing, it's not nearly as big of a deal as you make it to be. There are fairly loud directional sound cues that announce its presence and it isnt' faster than you unless you're completely unapgraded or have damaged engines.

After a lot of night fishing missions in the cliffs i started noticing that everytime the serpent comes out of the underwater tunnels you can clearly hear or even see some rocks falling off the cliffs.
The fact that i had to elaborate this personal strategy to avoid It made me fall in love with the game.
After two basic upgrades he becomes slow af, so no issues anymore

I played this game for the first time a couple of months ago and fell head over heels in love. Though, this absolute a-hole of a creature terrified me. Can’t wait for the sequel!! (Edit) It’s not a sequel, it’s more dlc. Sorry! Still can’t wait, though.

Bro you just travel down the hallways in 1 direction. The only way you die is if you stop or go backwards

Horrible advice, the Gale Cliffs should be the first location you visit outside the Marrows. The creature is slow, gives off a sound cue when it’s about to start the chase and will pursue your boat only when you venture beyond the ruined city.

To anybody who never played the game but is interested in playing, following the quest as they come out is definitely the best way to progress. The Pale Reach is an optional DLC area, and should be accessed after Gale Cliffs, but before Stellar Basin

i remember panicking when i first run into it with no speed to save myself, truly a brutal move made by the development team

The very best game mechanic in dredge is fear and panic. Not the one that IS the mechanic, but the fear of the player about everything that lurks in the waters. Everything is just "meh" and easily avoidable, once you figured out, what it is and what it does. But the first encounters and the fear and panic makes you be extra careful exploring.

My experience is that the game directs you the Gale Cliffs first.
The serpent is not too difficult to deal with as long as you can speed away quickly, but if you get there early you are likly to have slow engines. Thats what makes is scary.

The other areas, monster management is less dependant on your boats stats.

The monster at Gale Cliffs is pretty slow, you can pretty easily out run him and he gives up following you.
