Hormone Replacement Therapy: the good, the bad, and the ugly

Recent studies are beginning to shed light on what has been a very topical subject since the early 2000s: does estrogen therapy improve or worsen cardiovascular disease risk in postmenopausal women? In this talk from January 2019, Dr Emma O’Donnell, Lecturer in Exercise Physiology at Loughborough University discusses the historical and current understanding of the cardiovascular effects of estrogen therapy and where we are heading next.

I was living hell for 20 years. No one would entertain HRT. I had a cancer and they just ignored my hell of preset menopause from chemo. Cancer gone 20 years, then just went through round two. I think US doctors and researchers need more info, training, and research. People look at me like I'm in my forties. I have changed diet and now look for any way naturally that I can get small amounts of estrogen into my system. Doctors still ignore my pleas. They are fast to put chemo into bodies and faster to recommend cutting off body parts. I tell each one of them they are not the ones to live with side effects of the damage caused by chemo or missing body parts.

I do low dose birth control pill because menopause totally sucks. it was beyond my worst nightmare. You don't have to suffer ladies, find a good doctor who is proactive and open minded about hormone replacement therapy. I know women who have such awful vaginal atrophy at age 53 their skin just tears.
