A good food for thought would be "can I consider an open switch as a capacitor?" If no, why not? If yes, then why don't we do the same analysis with it?"
Also, since current flows with in a capacitive circuit, we have current flowing in 'open circuit'. Then why do we say we need a 'closed circuit'?
