MAVLink is the communications protocol that PX4 uses to communicate with QGroundControl (and other ground stations), MAVSDK, and MAVLink enabled peripherals including cameras, gimbals, OSD goggles. This presentation works through the main things you need to do in order to design a new MAVLink message, add it to PX4, and verify that it is sent and received.
