Virginia Tech Black Male Excellence Network (BMEN) Barbershop Talk Conversation | Live Podcast

This will be our second live recording at Virginia Tech. BMEN's October discussions focused heavily on “Power Dynamics” between Black men, women, and society at large. This non-traditional learning space for Black males allowed the Student Success Center to broaden its connection to students, faculty/staff, and community members.

The series has allowed Black male students to be connected to campus resources such as tutoring, a sense of belonging (SAAB), and Hokie Wellness. This promising practice allows the Student Success Center to broaden its outreach efforts through the Uplifting Black Male Conference by receiving student input on their expectations for the conference.
