Barry didnt deserve this much hate, its sad to see that. I mean legit out of everyone in the room he would be one of if not the most selfless person there. Think about what he went through, this mom died when he was a kid because of something he couldnt explain, his dad went to jail for a crime he didn't commit. Fast forward a few years and when his dad finally gets out of prison, some hope and some happiness returns to barry's eyes, only for it to diminish upon shortly after seeing his dad dying in front of him. Both his parents died because of him, he couldn't handle the guilt anymore and so went back in time to let them live their lives. He only did this after his dad died which was his breaking point, he had the chance in s1 to change things but he didnt cause that would mean that the reverse flash gets released back to the future where there is no flash. Barry gave up a potential happy life already just to make sure that RF doesnt go back to the flashless future and inflict more pain to people. I think that of a selfless act . I think its okay if he changed the timeline, he deserves at least this much after all the things he has been through. Also, he reverted the changes when he realised the damage which it caused to people around him. Basically, it was selfish of him to change things but it was also humane of him. He already made up for that in the past with all the selfless acts he did and continues to do in the future.

That most fucked part no one understands is Barry had to watch his mom get killed again and this time he was forced to say thank you to RF for doing it, Barry tried fixing shit and had to suffer the ultimate price and that shit would break a man
