A new report by Axios says scientists are blaming climate change for the extreme weather this summer, ranging from fires to record-breaking temperatures. Andrew Freedman, Axios science editor, joins CBSN to discuss his reporting and how to slow the effects of global warming.

The climate has always been (and is still) changing, all the time. Mostly effected by the sun, but to a much smaller extent, the increase in cities/populations can and do have some affect. Steel, stone, concrete and asphalt used in construction for buildings, roads, and other construction, retain heat from the sun’s energy during the day and dissipate that heat during the cooler hours.

While attending the University of Arizona, during the early 1970’s, many “climatologists, meteorologists, scientists and other weather ‘experts’” were hysterically protesting and demonstrating (while professing) that we were entering another ICE-AGE. We obviously were not entering an ice-age then, and are not suffering “global warming” now. These are political hoaxes to attempt to separate your money from your wallet.

Former Vice President Al Gore predicted that within ten years the oceans would rise about twenty feet. That was ten years ago and so far they have not risen even inch. Nothing, no, Nada not even a mili-meter!

Let us use some common sense:

Fact 1: Humans can not change (or make) the weather, we cannot even accurately predict it much less change it. Maybe we can seed a cloud here or there, but we can not stop or change the direction of a tornado or a hurricane or even a thunder storm or cold front or any other weather phenomenon.

Fact 2: The air we breath (the Earth’s atmosphere) is made-up of about 77% Nitrogen, 22% Oxygen, and less than 1% argon. That leaves LESS than 1% of ALL OTHER GASSES and airborne materials (such as water vapor, dust, etc). Carbon Dioxide makes up less than 2/100’s of one percent of Earth’s atmosphere. Like spitting into the ocean, not enough to make ANY difference no matter how many times we spit.

Fact 3: Global warming “experts” say that animal (primarily cow) flatulence (FARTS) help to increase the threat of global warming. Cow flatulence are NOT Carbon Dioxide. Like most animal flatulence, that gas is a methane gas NOT C02.

Imo, we need to change the conversation to the best things that we can do, depending on our personal situation. Changing our consumerist habits is one thing, and is important - but people can do far more to affect the choices made by the big polluters. Organisation is key, so I think we all should look for and support those organisations doing their best to either decrease the power of the big polluters or those diminishing the effects of their actions, and then those organisations taking steps to deal with the effects of climate change. It seems to be obvious. The weather is increasingly favoring warmth instead of cold temperatures in the last 7 years. This winter is very mild after a hot summer. The previous two winters where somewhat colder but I remember 3 years ago there was'nt even a winter it was like spring. And almost all recent summers where very hot 39°C for extended period of time.
