WTF!!! Yet another cinematic highpoint from my childhood has been targeted for destruction. Saw it in the theater when it was first released, and I loved this film so much that I asked my parents to rent it so I could watch it again with friends on my birthday. It must have just been available to rent, as that birthday was in the early 80s.

I remember the original Time Bandits having an underlying critique of consumerism and technology. I doubt the newer version has any such themes at all; it will be meaningless pablum and souless.

The animated robot and the witch movies look the best: more innovative and better storytelling. The others just seem so grotesque and full of brutal violence.
