Cambridge's loss is our gain. Starkey is a national treasure.

It takes you back to a time when we had extremely intelligent, thoughtful programmes on radio and TV not glossy hype

It's brilliant that these lectures exist on the internet for people to see. With David Starkey's channel the history of England is available to the English.

David Starkey is a great story-teller as well as being a great historian. Long may this channel continue!

Dr Starkey, you do realise you are going to break the internet by creating a YouTube Channel? You might not know the magnitude of the gift you have given the world today.

Dr. Starkey, we met at Stationers' Hall, where we ate lunch together. At that time I was negotiating the loan of the Lincoln Magna Carta to Virginia Beach, Va. Thank you for a wonderfully informative lecture. Every success to your new channel. I totally agree with your suggestion that we need a new education reformation.

As long as mainstream tv history consists of Dan Snow then we are lost. Welcome back Starkey!

Dr Starkey, many thanks for this. Five or six years ago, I bought a biography of William Marshall, which reawakened my interest in history and led me to complete my History MA some 35 years after my first degree. Although I was a distance student, I did not like the university atmosphere, as it did not feel open to all points of view. I try to keep an open mind, challenge my own views and look for truth. My dissertation was on the commemoration of Magna Carta at Runnymede, so I found this talk of yours very interesting. I look forward to hearing many more of your talks.

You Tube is the university for all, and David Starkey is surely its top lecturer, both in history and moral courage too!

You have brought to life the sketchy outline and half remembered stories I had in my head from my education. You have made them whole and added so much more than I knew before. This is excellent and I thank you. All Britons should watch your talks, this is how we became who we are, our history is rich and magnificent. Thank you David

Sorry to correct you but the steep street in Lincoln is called steep hill, I used to live at the bottom and work at the top and walk up it every day

But thank you so much for starting this project I love listening to you and learning whilst I’m hitting metal in my workshop,

So many uploads 😀 yet its only the tip of the iceberg. A great mind with a lot to say, it can not get better than this.
