Not only would they die being released they appreciate you. And they have a proper environment this is the best enclosure without being a pond or something ive ever seen for turtles so far. ❤

Its wild to me that so many people assume every animal in captivity is unhappy. if theyre cared for right they will be very happy, lots of food, attention, and enrichment that is handed to them like royalty

Part of the reason I think Flipper might be following you around is because she trusts you. If you look closely at the video, she starts following you before you even presented the food. You probably gained her trust through giving her food and water, and interacting with her frequently. Trust is harder to gain in turtles because they are simple-minded reptiles, but it can be done with enough patience. And you certainly seemed to gain the trust of your turtles, so props to you!

People don’t like understand that these animals have everything they want - a safe clean place to live without ever having to worry about predators and food delivered right to them without ever having to hunt for it and possibly go hungry for a lack of natural resources. They are spoiled and very happy to be kept and cared for. They don’t have a worry in the world which is exactly the opposite of their wild brethren.
