Circular saws work best with a guide if you're using it horizontally.

When used for framing, most get used to dropping the saw vertically through lumber. There's less friction to push against, and less chance of kickbacks from not pusing perfectly straight.

I bought a Unimat DB200/SL recently. It was overpriced. It has gotten me started and studying the subject and I now know it is an expensive hobby.

Next time, and there will be a next time, I buy a lathe it won't necessarily be cheap but probably it will be a good match for my needs and limitations.

I only regret really cheap tools I've bought that has ended up botching hours of work.

You could modify the sawdust exhaust without a problem

Is it actually made in the USA? Very sparse info online about it or Oliver machinery

Totally thought that was from the 1930s.

The most confusing circular saw I ever saw in my life, haha! All the gimmicks and far-fetched marketing claims, but not even a laser? Oh, for cryin' out loud. At least I hope most of it is built out of die-cast aluminum rather than plastic...

As for the name, it's equally confusing as systemd, haha.

It certainly has a 1960~1970 design appearance. But, durability over style.

Wait, it uses nonstandard blades? What? Really? That's a nonstarter!
