CNET News - Apple shows off Continuity for Mac OS X

At Apple's WWDC in San Francisco, the company shows off new Mac OS X features that make it possible to send voice calls and SMS messages from an iPad or iPhone to a Mac, and use Handoff to access documents across devices.

I can't really find too much use for the new "Handoff" feature, but the ability to use the Mac as a dialer to accpet, deny, and make calls was very impressive

I am so happy that apple wasn't afraid to change the way the restricted things. They actually listened to what people wanted and payed attention to their customers. I hope this change of attitude and heart flows into all of their new hardware coming later this year. :)

Does handsoff only work for devices in proximity ? Or over the WAN too ?

I have Yosemite, and the only continuity feature that seems to work for me is SMS, I cannot get calling or email pickup to work..

These features aren't enough for me to buy an iPhone and a mac, but I hope this will prompt developers at Google to look into this type of integration with desktops.
