Hudson Institute will host Australian Minister for Defence, Senator the Hon. Linda Reynolds CSC, for a discussion on U.S.-Australia security cooperation. Minister Reynolds will offer keynote remarks on the role Australia and the United States play in promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific region. Following her address, Minister Reynolds will join Hudson’s Asia-Pacific Security Chair, Patrick Cronin, for a one-on-one discussion on the challenges and opportunities ahead for the Australian-American defense partnership.

Minister Reynolds has served as a senator for the state of Western Australia since 2014 and was appointed Minster for Defence in May 2019. Previously, she was Minister for Defence Industry, Minister for Emergency Management and North Queensland Recovery, and a member of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence, and Trade. Minister Reynolds also served as a reserve officer in the Australian Army for 29 years and was the first woman to be promoted to the rank of brigadier in the Australian Defence Force, where she was awarded the Conspicuous Service Cross.
