I expected the following sequence of events, before the current sequence of events:: 1) Russian Fed will recognize Donbass today, paving the way for a new born republic called Donbas or Lohansk. (2) This would end the civil war in Ukraine formally. (3) Kyiv would apply again for NATO OLAN MEMBERSHIP after a new republic of Donbass is born. The argument would be good. No civil war in Ukraine. 4) This time Ukraine would qualify for NATO membership, after Donbas is made a separate independent republic. 5) Two months from today, Donbas republic is born and made the 200th member of UNO as a separate republic. (6) Ukraine is newly made a member of NATO-OLAN group a week before Donbass republic joins NATO. All this happens about a year after Donbas republic is born.
