Hamas Proposes Ceasefire After Recruiting Thousands in Gaza: Reports | Firstpost America

Several Israeli media have reported that Hamas has recruited anywhere between 12,000 to 23,000 new fighters in the Gaza Strip in its fight against Israel. Meanwhile, Hamas has also proposed a week-long ceasefire where the Palestinian group would release a list of hostages being held in Gaza on the fourth day of the ceasefire. Meanwhile, pressure mounts on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to secure a hostage-release deal with Hamas. Currently, about 100 hostages are being held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. However, Hamas continues to launch rockets and missiles into Southern Israel. Israel has now threatened to intensify its bombing campaign in Gaza if Hamas does not stop its rocket attacks.
