Mohammed Deif, the top military commander of Hamas was targeted in an Israeli strike in al-Mawasi. FOX News' Trey Yingst reporting that a battle assessment was underway Saturday to determine if the terrorist leader was killed in the strike.

Deif was considered to be one of the top four most wanted terrorists within the Hamas terror group.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it conducted the strike when the targets were in an open area, but that the targets had been hiding among civilians, likely using them as human shields, as has been the case for months.

Negotiations continue between Israel and Hamas regarding a possible ceasefire and hostage release deal. President Biden said Thursday that both sides have agreed to the "framework" of a deal.

The Israel-Hamas war began back on Oct. 7 when Hamas terrorists launched an unprecedented attack on Israel, killing about 1,200 people and taking more than 250 hostages.

LiveNOW from FOX's Josh Breslow spoke with Marl Chandler, the director of Government Relations at Coastal Carolina University to discuss the latest on the Middle East.

People hide them, and cry when they get targeted.

Yes, since they're claiming Israel was bombing civilians and still managed to kill a leader tells you he was hiding right out in the open with civilians.

With 70% of Palestinians supporting Hamas there are very few "innocent civilians."

If any Americans shed any tears for a top chief of hamas they shouldn’t be here.

Oldest game in the terrorist game. Shield with innocents, when innocents are killed blame the attacker. They respect no human life, willing to cause the death of thousands without blinking. Hoping to blame those who defend against them. May he not rest in peace.

According to Hamas rules of war, the human shield level of the Gazan society always sacrifices their lives for the elites.
