I started my food forest last year and i already have 31 fruit trees today. Can't wait to start picking fruit. My 5 in 1 apple tree is loaded with pre buds & my 4 in 1 cherry tree &. My red haven peach tree are all loaded.

Peaches!  Wonderful when they are RIPE off the tree, unlike the green supermarket peaches.  There are varieties that only need 400 hours chill time and they grow in Bakersfield, California.

Delay flowering time
Standard spacing 15-20'
Only produce few years
More trees=better pollination
Standard=yellow
Well Drained! Soil
Roots = not too deep
Must have thick mulch!
Thin out fruit while they're green
Open branches=less fungus
Pulling off fresh growth
Harvesting:
Look up your variety to know best times/practices
& for your area ?problems & solutions
...
Keep planting new trees to always have peaches (for when first trees stop producing)

WOW you need to check out Tom Spellman, Dave Wilson Nursery, he does a whole series on backyard fruit growing.
I retired, left the orchard to our daughter and son in law, just a few glimpses of your trees, get pruning, get pruning, get pruning. We have 38 acres in peaches, nectarines, and we don't use ladders to pick. Again get pruning.

I have never seen a mature peach tree like that, festooned with perfect peaches. Most people who put up videos on peaches have a tree which is within its first few years, or still in a bucket as such. The branches on that tree look really healthy and not a blemish on the fruit. Well done, you have mastered that art! Thanks for all the useful factual information, especially the idea of siting the tree. I have two pear trees and every year I explain to my neighbour that the lower one flowers first, but the second is delayed due to its site - but I would never have thought of exploiting that scenario in order to deliberately delay flowering. Excellent idea. I will be growing one peach (espalier - when it arrives) at the back of the greenhouse, but I have 3 supposedly resilient varieties for containers. I doubt I will be planting in the ground at this point - my area isn't ideal, so containers allow me some control. Great video and shows what can be done when you know what you are doing! Thanks, Vox.

Okay, where's the video showing how to prune to get that wonderful 'opened up' effect? GREAT looking tree!

Amazing peaches, James! Yesterday we enjoyed the first ripe peach ever from our Red Haven peach tree. I'm looking forward to our tree producing like yours someday.

Down here in San Antonio Tx we have peach trees on semi-dwarf rootstock and they only need 200 chill hours. These like to bloom early so we have to watch the a late frost carefully

I just bought my first peach tree. It’s about 2 feet tall. I am going to grow it indoors with a grow light and prune it. I have tall ceilings so I can let it grow a little. I might actually bring it to my friends house when it gets bigger and plant it there. They said they wouldn’t mind having a peach tree, so that’s cool, I can always plant it there and go get my peaches 😊 🍑
Keep growing everyone!

Thank you James! I'm planting a peach tree this year, and came to you first, knowing you'd have helpful info. I hope to grow beautiful peaches like yours!
p.s. Have you noticed that many of the best fruits start with the letter P? Peaches, plums, pears, and persimmons (my favorite!) Based on your recommendation, I want to try paw paws too!
