Level 5 - the car goes to work without you and does your job for you.

I swear we could discover how to cure all diseases and live forever and everyone would be like, "How will nurses have jobs tho?" This kind of inside-the-box thinking is fucking appalling.

When this technology gets advanced enough, we wont even need stoplights anymore. Traffic lights are gone. no traffic... holy shit

Why are people trying to fight autonomous driving?

I'm aware that you are afraid of not having the coolest car anymore, because we'll all not be driving our own cars in the future because we'll get picked up by some weird bubble and dropped off whenever we need to. I get it. (But hey - you can spend your 40 grand on stuff that actually matters :) )

Now why are you trying to fight it? - Are you SERIOUSLY afraid of a computer? Yet you are using one every single day.

We are TERRIBLE drivers. Humans are terrible. Drivers. We suck big time.

Seriously. Do you see how many people are distracted by their phone while driving? Checking a short text while driving on a straight road is not okay. It's just not.

People use their anonymity in their middleclass wagon to release dust from work, marriage or red bank accounts and it fucking sucks. Making their own rules on the streets.

(If you're not from germany, come here and spend a couple of hours on the autobahn. It's nuts.)

There are so many more ways to express your anger than on the streets.

Let's welcome the change (that has to happen) and celebrate the free time we will have in the future.

3:24 maybe the worst reporter ever. He's talking about the technology and the advancement of how it can see 200m in advance. And she wants to know if she can break the sensor off the car. Yes you can break it off. You can hit the car with a bat to do bad things too. What kind of knucklehead question was that?

the reporter really is an annoying person. *hitting sensor for no reason* " can I break this?" visibly annoyed guy "uh yeah please stop"

Why would you want to purchase one? If the technology is so good you could buy it then it would go without saying there would already be ride sharing services for very cheap. No need to own the actual tech.

What would be great, is if you could drive freely on country roads or roads with less traffic, but then when you enter a busy city your car automatically takes over. Or on dangerous roads and all intersections, the car takes over (especially for left hand turns). I also feel that autonomy can't be perfect until everyone's car can drive automatically. In the future you'd either have to get your old car fit for autonomy, even a classic mustang or something, for it to be street legal... or you'd just have to stay on country roads until you see a sign that says "autonomous vehicles only" or something. Now that would make sense!

Uh yea, excuse me. Today is 2/19. I’m an uber and LYFT driver in the Phoenix area as well as an ‘early user waymo rider’. There are NO uber OR Waymo cars picking up any riders in the Phoenix area. I am in every FB group and driver group and would surely know about it. Bad info. Carry on.

"For most of us driving is 50 minutes commute each way every day"

Personally i like to drive and hate the idea of self driving cars because of it. But when this becomes mainstream, people will buy these and eventually It will replace all the human driven cars. I believe that governments will love this and track your movements, if they know what you google search, they will be able to know your movements.

Maybe I'll just wait for these cars instead of reading the drivers book

Make no mistake this has the potential to phase out truckers and other vehicle-related jobs.
