Keyfobs were the first products I made for my leather business... and they are still selling just fine. The ones with conchos sell better, but i always sell them at markets and what not. I sell between $25-50 depending on the hardware used and people buy them no problem.

Great video. Leather keychains and fobs are actually good money makers BUT like you said, its VERY important that the material costs are as low as possible. It should not cost more than $3 total in materials to make that exact keychain. At $3 for just the hook for 50 bulk, I bet that was bought from Buckleguy. If you look hard enough you can find heavy duty ones for under $1, and the rivets and hoop will be under $1, unless the hoop is branded with your company name. And you are right, less hardware the better! That particular style is not very stylish and mostly for people who want to clip their keys on something. The standard key fob with just a rivet and key hoop sells better and can be customized or personalized more. I know one guy who sells them for $15-20 after sale discount at our local farmer's market and there is no way it has more than $2-3 worth of material including the veg tan leather he uses.

Oddly I’ve just got some blue stuff in a bulk buy. About half 3/4 of a hide I can’t think of a project for. I know there’s something amazing in there so I don’t want to waste it on little things. What came of yours?
