Euler angles - Insights

Показать описание
An elementary introduction to Euler angles is presented. Although defined in a simple way, Euler angles are difficult to imagine when someone first learns them. The video is divided into two parts, in the first part, I explain why do we require Euler angles, and in the next part is spent to illustrate the use of Euler angles to describe the angular velocity of a rotating body. Most of the textbook on mechanics do not bother to explain the deep reasons of why would anyone require Euler angles. In this video, I showed the idea of Euler angles follows when we talk about rotation in three-dimensional space.

I had trouble understanding Euler angles too! It was maybe around an year ago I finally understood the concept. Amazing work by the way! Keep it up.

I had to slow it down to 0.25x so that I could analyze every movement. I loved it, awesome video.

Tyvm for great explanation!
I don't get it yet, but I'll be coming back to this video when will come across this topic again :)

how do you create this cool animations?

How can you find components of angular momentum along x1 x2 x3 axis when this axis are fixed with the object. From the perspective of x1 x2 x3 axis, the object is not rotating, it is stationary.

Only left channel audio is very disturbing. Explanation is good.

I followed up to 4 minutes then I became so lost I guess its because the axis wasn't labelled as you were describing it. Nevertheless, the animation was absolutely amazing. I am gonna check out your channel for other videos to understand this.

what software did you use to create this animation, trying to do something similar for my masters dissertation

Wow. Video is very informative and animation is awesome. Now, I understand the bit of a heavy spinning top, which went quite quickly in our classical mechanics class :p. Thank you, man. I'll be waiting for the next video. Btw, one question, shouldn't the nutation involve the rate of change of theta in both x and y-direction?

At 7:15 I think you need to put the ψ angle between the component and the x2 axis. Great video!

How the top's rotation is zxz is impossible to understand.

Thanks for a great video. I'm still not fully with it unfortunately. The example you showed at 4.30 (x y x rotation) the x axis is pointing up? Your video is by far the best on YouTube.

Great video but it will be better if you had named the axes & the angles
