Hi, just wanted to share my experience with this movie. I'm 17 now, and all these years, the vague memory of watching this movie has been seriously bugging me. This movie was on a DVD that a family friend had given to us, and I had watched it when I was probably 3-4 years old. Something about the animation always spooked me, so it stayed with me all these years. I remembered it very vaguely, a mickey cameo (sorcerer's apprentice), some ethereal women or mermaid things (pastoral symphony) and something about a dark cave. I tried so hard to find what this movie was called, and was eventually led here. I'm so happy I uncovered such a deep memory of mine, it's times like these when I find the internet absolutely wonderful. Thank you.

My first VHS when I was not even two in 1989.
Shaped my childhood.
Looking back, it is truly a masterpiece. Everything, the timing the seamless animation, the coloring. It still blows my mind.
I share it with my 8 year old son, assumes it's cgi. Nope.

Magic, excitement, music, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventures. I love it. Fantasia is one of my favorite Disney movies with mystical creatures, enchanted folks, fairies, and things that come to life. My most favorite part of it is the fairies, dancing in the air and changing the seasons as they come and go. They are so eternally young and beautiful. Oh, those mushrooms are so cute and they enjoy dancing in the fairy ring together. Things like that never cease to amaze me since I was little. I never gave up believing in fairies and magic with all my heart because I still refuse to grow up, and forget about the precious things I knew, especially those from my childhood. I am like Peter Pan. My one and only wish is to keep the magic alive for all time. I also wish to be a fairy to stay strong, childlike, young, and beautiful forever and ever like the Fantasian fair folks, the blue fairy (Pinocchio), the fairy godmother (Cinderella), Tinker Bell (Peter Pan), and the celebrated fairy godmothers (Sleeping Beauty). Believe in magic and never grow up, just as I learned from my late hero Walt Disney. God bless him and rest his soul.

I was a happy child and I was obsessed with this film. This unlocks my deepest and happiest times before I was depressed. Thanks for allowing me to watch it again and go back to those good old times even for a few minutes

To people complaining that the mushrooms are racist: who really considers that as a child? I must have been about five when I saw Fantasia and watched it every year since and only when I was about 14 did I finally twig that there was something Asian-looking about the mushrooms. As for phallic, that certainly never crossed my mind. They were fucking dancing mushrooms, and I was happy.
