This movie is an undisputed masterpiece, not only one of the best Disney movies ever, but one of the best movies period.

"Life is not pretty and innocent like a Disney movie".

I will forever love how they animated Chernabog's hands. So damn good!

Disney villains now: 17 year old high school girl

Hard to believe Disney had this in them at one point. They wouldn't touch this with a 100 foot pole now but it really demonstrated what they were capable of, guiding the audience from the heavenly heights to the bowels of hell in one film.

Maleficent: pure evil.
Chernabog: RAW evil.

I was so terrified by this that I couldn't even watch this part at all. When I was little, after "Dance of the Hours" I'd stop the tape. It wasn't until I was about 10 that I had the guts to watch this. Truly one of the darkest moments in Disney animation.

Imagine walking through the house at midnight because you have to pee, and you see all of THIS from your window

Chernabog is without a doubt the leader of the Disney villains.

It's a real shame how audiences didn't accept such a masterpiece back then, causing Disney to hold back on his creative and daring visions.

Walt Disney himself has said this is supposed to be the Devil. I believe him.

Pretty cool how they deliberately made Chernabog's movements mimic those of an orchestra conductor.

lol, my little sister was obsessed with this when I was 5 years old. We actually got her a Chernabog doll for her birthday. But one day she was throwing some trash away and thought that the Chernabog doll was trash, so she threw it away by accident. When it was to late to get him back, she cried all day.

r.i.p Chernabog....

I personally love this bit: of course, it's scary as hell (quite literally actually), but the music is so dramatic and powerful, and the animation is a work of art.

78 years later and I still wonder how they do those ghost effects?

The fact that this movie is 83 years old is mind blowing.

Love how it's 0 dialogue and the music just speaks for itself.

4:09. This part creeped me out as a kid. When his hand goes into the flames and all those creatures in his hand turn into miniature devils. Today, it still is quite chilling to watch, especially with that powerful music. Especially for a movie that's 80 years old. And yet, the animation still holds up well. So impressive.
