My personal theory. The predators, after losing one of there own to a native species of the planet. Try to investigate the who, how, and why it happened. Judging from there, if they see the species, or specimen as worthy, other predators test themselves against that said species or try to find any relation to that species that reflects the strength, ability or tenacity that the particular species had. Dutch's brother could have been a target for that method.

I don't think the classic predators, such as the Jungle Hunter and the City Hunter would try to take revenge on someone. They're too honorable. The Super Predators from the 'Predators' movie don't seem to still hold the same honor code, they take revenge on pray that they escaped them or killed a Yautja, as seen when the lead super predator blew up Noland with a plasma caster rather than killing him and keeping his skull for a trophy.

Just read the NY Predator story last weekend, did not realize the Phillips connection. Thanks.

Wouldn't the interaction between Dutch and Philips be a "debriefing" rather than a "briefing"?
I always thought when a superior provided information about an assignment it was a *briefing.* When the superior requested information after an assignment it was a *debriefing.*
Thanks for another fun video.

I've seen some of the topics you've done by other channels, but your quality of video and other things of that nature is just amazing. Keep up the great work!

If they were really interested in revenge Predator 2 wouldn't have ended with a gift.

This is a great video and story. This should be in a movie or short tv series. A race to find out what your dealing with your outmanned and outgunned.

There is no way the Predators are petty and revenge seeking. What Dutch has done was incredible, and they are just hoping for another good hunt by going after his brother.

It would go against the Yautja's code to hunt the same game twice. Since they couldn't hunt Dutch again, it would make sense for a Yautja to want to find a human with DNA as close to Dutch's as possible. They didn't hunt Dutch's brother out of revenge, the brother was picked as worthwhile prey.

The Yautja don't seem like the sort of species to seek revenge after a "fair" fight. At least as long as the Yautja thought it was fair. However the self destruct gizmo kind of works against this theory.

FWIW, I've only seen Predators 1, 2 and AVP. I haven't read any of the books or comics. There's a very good chance I'm imposing an ethics system on these aliens which isn't justified by the source material.

One problem with Hollywood movies is there isn't any guarantee of consistency between movies. As we saw with *The Last Jedi, * long established universe rules can be thrown out at the whim of the newest director. So even if the Yautja have some sort of ethics concerning prey, there's no guarantee future movies will abide by these rules.

Man, I just found your channel and I love that you did these. I’ve wanted (needed) some expansion on this universe for a long time now. I have a lot of the comics but didn’t realize there were novelizations of them as well. Very well done, thank you 🙏

Based on how you explained it, best bet is they have something to facial recognition technology. That and any information the jungle hunter had could've been used as a base to find detective Schafer. It wouldn't be a revenge thing for them. Their society is based on a clan structure and maybe they got curious about the Schafer clan.

The predators see a worthy adversary and are drawn like deadly moths to a flame

It’s probably the challenge. They respect those who can fight. So they probably say Dutch’s brother as another worthy hunt. Kinda like bull fighters breed bulls out of the same lineage when one sibling is good
