N.B.: This is a mashup of our 3 ULTIMATE snare head comparison videos (Aquarian comparison has been made in April 2019, Evans in June 2017 and Remo in December 2016) hence the slight variation in tempo (and change in clothing, rug or bass drum etc.) All heads were tuned at the same exact tension (88) using a DrumDial. We are grateful that every manufacturer provided their respective heads free of charge to help us make the original videos. Hope this clarifies any misunderstanding!

The audio was recorded using a matched pair of AKG C414 for overheads, a Shure SM57 for the snare and a AKG D112 for the bass drum.

All the EVANS head sounded best to me...but I've been playing Evans for a long time. The latest UV1's are really great. Got them on all my snares, toms, and bass drums. Tune up or down with ease and seem to last longer than any other head I've used. To each his own, keep swinging and all good things!!!!
