Here are five awesome strategies that can help us not only SURVIVE stressful situations but GROW from them! Remember, "the goal is NOT to have zero challenges but rather to balance and manage them in healthy ways."
H- Humor - Find the funny side of a stressful situation or interject a bit of positive, good-spirited fun. (Sometimes this is more appropriate/realistic after the fact.)
U- Understanding - Gain a clearer perspective of the stressor as well as your options to deal with it.
M- Meaning - Look at the stressor in a way that helps you identify how you can grow or otherwise benefit us.
E- Exercise - "Move your body to move your brain." Even a brisk walk can help!
R- Resources - Turn to friends, family, faith/spirituality, counselors, or tools like journaling. Make a list of the resources you have!
