I don't think that europeans were superior in warfare at that time, it was just the situation of Seljuk empire with the internal conflicts during the time of the sons of Malik shah (the sultan of the Seljuk empire who died few years before the first crusader and the empire was split between his sons) who were fighting over the territories in Anatolia, Iraq, and Central Asia (Khorasan) between each other and against their uncle Tutush and the levant was not directly under the Seljuk family, the Atabeg are the one's ruling that area who were also fighting each other over the territories in the levant, Antakya, Homs, and Tripoli and against the shea fatimid over Jerusalem. please read about the Seljuk time before the crusader invasion.

All these led to the crusaders easy and successful Invasion in the first crusader, they were really great fighters am not denying that and they should receive credit for their great commanders and well trained troops but the rest of crusaders were unsuccessful since muslim world were united under Saladin and his descendants. specially in the "Mamluk" times whom where more capable and better in warfare than the Ayyoubid, and it was during their time where king of France himself was captured in the 7th crusader, also it was during their time the crusaders were completely kicked out of the levant.

During the ottomans era, muslims were more capable of defeating many European armies Which led to their invasion of the balkans reaching the doors of Vienna, the capital of holy roman empire and were able to gain control of the mediterranean sea sometimes in the 1500s. It was all about how the troops were trained and who was was commanding the troops in the battles and what was the political situation at that time. yes you can loose some battles but not the entire land if you were permanently really in a good situation economically and military, yes you may lose some territories if you are in a good situation but it will take very long time or being destroyed politicly/economically first and then militarily comes after perhaps in this case you may be defeated and lose some lands. After the muslim were united and were able to retake Jerusalem under Saladin, Muslims were more of taking back the lost territories taken by the crusaders than losing them despite many crusaders attempts as they were all unsuccessful and that also applies to the Christians in the Iberian Peninsula for their "reconquista" campaign against the muslims as they were united and were able to retake it city by city after many years of strives.

Sure we are talking before the European scientific revolution before 1600s, after that i would say yes European started to grow and becoming more superior in many fields including warfare due to all the change occurred during the revolutions, advancement of military equipments, education etc.

Please excuse my english and despite some grammatical mistakes, hope you got my point and i totally respect yours for sure. i always watch and like your videos. please keep posting more historical videos like this.

Sultanate of Rum means Sultanate of Rome. You can guess how at least Turks felt about Romans.

I suggest watching the battle of badr and the battle of uhud. Both the 2 earliest islamic wars against the pagans of mecca. Very cool stuff.

The heavily armored knight actually originates in iran, where it has existed since antiquity. From there the practice moved westwards, becoming popular in eastern rome in form of cataphracts, then western europe in form of armored knights
