Dude... this is awesome. I've been trying to open up some tutorial videos for work but the only player we have installed in our work computers at the office is Windows media player. Using chrome has made it possible to play videos that are not supported by Windows media player.

Thank you a lot!. Videos offline like mp4 I recorded or downloaded don't have subtitles. So while uploading on the google chrome, it displays subtitles. That is great for me. Google Chrome has come with accessibility to English subtitles.

well. . . not really.
my chrome is updated today. but drag and dropping video file into chrome does not play the video.
it asks me to SAVE the file into a download folder. that's it. it does not play video or music files.

Thanks for this. The cast file option disappeared with the latest Chrome update but this does the trick.

Thanks for the video. Seems that Chrome has changed something. I receive voicemail attachments in gmail (mp3) and I used to be able to just click and they would play. Now they are being forced to download. Once downloaded I can open in Chrome and it will play no problem. Is there a setting to change this that you know of?

There is easier way to do it, right click on the video/sound file, then "open in program.." and choose "other", there u choose Chrome and "set as default". Then whenever you'll open a mp3/mp4 file, it'll open in chrome.

But there is one problem that even i can't figure out. Some videos just have the sound in chrome, and some videos in chrome are played without sound. It's bad when i want to watch a movie with my online friend, and the sound can't be shared from other than chrome tab, but the video just doesn't have sound in there.
