Today, we will discuss how to properly clean your roof, specifically asphalt shingles.

To begin, start with a dry surface. Ideally, work on a cool or overcast day. Cleaning in hot or windy days will increase evaporation and additional cleaner will be needed.

30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner offers two choices for your roof cleaning project. The concentrate formula is mixed 50/50 with water in a garden sprayer. For the easiest application, choose the outdoor miracle formula in our hose-end sprayer. On the front of the bottle, there’s a red fan attachment that you can just leave in place to clean a 1 story home. Or simply remove the fan to reach second stories. This bottle is not intended to be refilled with the concentrate.

Always test in a small, inconspicuous spot when cleaning a surface for the first time.

Next, thoroughly saturate the roof with 30 SECONDS Outdoor Cleaner. You should see cleaner pooling and running down the surface. Keep the shingles wet with cleaner for 150 minutes. During this time, you will likely need to apply a second layer of cleaner to properly soak the surface. After 15 minutes, simply rinse away stains from Algae, Mold and Mildew with your hose. No damaging pressure washer needed. Areas of heavier staining may require additional soak time or a second cleaning.
