This pump is an awesome idea. I saw a product that is ceramic you can add to the water when you rinse and it adds more heat reflecting

Really glad I don't have that problem over here in Oklahoma! I used that same process to clean the vinyl siding on my Mother in laws house of the green mold and dirt before we sold it. Turned out amazing! Nice job Mike

PERFECT timing, Mike! As I have been pondering the best way to do my roof - especially how to get high up without getting on the roof. And how to truly flood it with a substantial blast of the bleach mixture. Like you, my days of roof walking are probably best over, LOL. I have a 28 foot extension ladder that scares me to death! Like you, I don't have heavy / mossy mold on my roof, but it is stained dark with mold. Question: I have a red roof - would I have to worry about the bleach fading the color? Or should I dilute it more? Thanks a bunch - you really have brought so many great ideas to those, just like me, that can't afford to hire contractors for every little job. I live nice, but must live lean and mean to afford it!

Oh, and I notice, like me, you don't have a bunch of stupid shrubs growing right next to the house - I have mulch and river rock for my beds next to the house. My plants surrounding the house are all in containers, with most on my porch and back deck - which allows me to move them around however I want and that allows me to easily put down Gly-4 to kill whatever weeds, without also killing plants. In the South, for some reason, people think they have to plant all of these bushes growing right next to the house - filling it with bugs, spider webs, snakes, etc. Which requires constant trimming and cleaning debris. When I built my house, I said "NO!" to that time-wasting nonsense!

I got quoted $800. I did it with green Gain dish soap, 8 gallons of bleach, and a car wash foam blaster connected to my pressure washer. My neighbor liked the results so much he modified it to run a hose into a 5 gallon bucket like this and did it that way. Plus he picked up his bleach at the pool store so it was cheaper. Certainly faster than the way I did it. I let it dwell about 30 minutes and kept it wet. Ran the sprinkler system to keep the lawn and plants wet. On some sections I did it twice because he was really black and stained.

Does chlorine affect the adhesives on your shingles and shorten its life span or is there no effect?

Took your advice and got me that pump. I was able to shoot my whole roof from a ladder and no need to get on the roof. That pump does wonders shooting the ol’ hot sauce. Cleaned up 15 years worth of organic black growth. Even worse than yers. Thanx know it all!!

Just ordered the pump. Been on my roof solo with a backpack hand pump. Got a bad chemical burn from the bleach. You made my day. Thank you.

I do pressure washing and soft washing as a side business. First time i've seen "batch mixing" in a garbage can and first time I've seen use of a corded "bleach pump". it works! I'm surprised you got the results you did with essentially a 1.5% SH (jug bleach has 7%, but you diluted by 5x). Usually I use a 4+% SH. If someone does this with a lighter roof.... white/light gray, I'd suggest going stronger on the bleach. Cool video, and I like the tip with the clamps. That ryobi sprayer can also be used to shoot diluted oxalic acid on rust/irrigation staining. I have a couple vids on that. peace.

Read somewhere that it is better to start at the bottom and work your way to the top to avoid streaking. thanks for a great video

Beautiful, how is your connection? I see you have one end of hose connected to the sprayer and one end to the pump. Then you have one end of hose connected to the back of the pump and the other end to the inside the water can is that how you have it? I’m looking to do the same. Can you let me know how you have everything connected. Thank you.
