WATCH: 'I was wrong about Donald Trump,' Vance says | CBS Vice Presidential Debate
Показать описание
Sen. JD Vance said he was wrong to criticize former President Donald Trump in 2016 and added during the vice presidential debate with Gov. Tim Walz on Tuesday that his belief that the former president was "unfit” was because he believed the media.
“I've also been extremely open about the fact that I was wrong about Donald Trump. I was wrong, first of all, because I believed some of the media stories that turned out to be dishonest fabrications of his record,” Vance said.
He added that he was wrong because Trump “delivered for the American people” when it came to the economy and immigration.
Vance and Walz are facing each other in their first, and possibly last, vice presidential debate, hosted by CBS in New York on Oct. 1.
Both are relatively unknown to the broader American public. Walz was a U.S. House member before becoming governor of Minnesota. Vance is in his first term as a senator from Ohio.
