Did the founders decree that states could secede from the union?

IMO, Founders > everyone and every law afterward. But I'm not an American, so I guess my opinion doesn't matter, but I <3 America and the Founders.

In the narrative, Calton says Sam Brannon "purchased a jar of gold dust." Back when precious metals were money, how did someone "purchase" money (except through trading services/labor/goods for money)?
