IF I was an NFL GM I would have 3 rules when it comes to getting QBS.
1) Make sure they play all the years they can in college. College qbs will need time to adjust to NFL, but I rather have them a little more seasoned. With how long a good qbs career can be, you would still get 10 years out of them if they were good.

2) Never pay qb big money before rookie deal ends, I am thinking of Kyler Murray here. THey obviously do not trust him if the study clause is anything to go by, and i find it hard to believe they would pay a guy that much money if they do not think he studies material.

3) Keep 1 pocket passer starter and 1 running qb on roster as backup. Running qbs can be amazing when they are on it, but I rather not have to wince every time he runs and worry about injury. Reason I wanted a runner is because if the weather is really bad that you cant throw you could run, or if the game is lost the running qb can play garbage time and escape getting mauled by the defense if the offensive line is bad. Also I would love to use a running qb as a field goal and extra point holder (like in the old days when qbs held it), so if I want to do a fake I have a guy that can run fast or throw well.
