Hey guys, just to be clear the reason why Brooke blurred out my shirt is because this is a family channel and the quote on it is more along the lines of adult humor so, out of respect for all of you we decided to blur it. The shirt itself isn't a military shirt persay, it has a large caliber bullet on it holding a sign.

I am obsessed with these videos. I'm going through a tough time and I show my 13 year old your videos. I go to Food pantries now and he knows that. I've had people tell me I shouldn't tell him that. I disagree. Please don't ever change. You're beautiful inside and out. I can tell you this. You have helped me. Much love from New Jersey.

My mind is kind of blown right now 😳. Who wakes up and makes a "simple" breakfast by taking a pineapple and making homemade jam.. Just wow. Great job. You officially inspired me all week w dinner. I even took leftover cooked chicken from last night's chicken marsala and shredded it and put it into a parmasan chicken pasta bake. My family loved it. No-one in my family was impressed that I used my leftovers as a whole new meal...but I was 😊

My great grandmother raised 11 children and often made biscuits with onion and milk gravy. She said that during harvest she would add fried potatoes. But they never went hungry. So you feed your family how you can.

So glad I found this channel. Money has been extremely tight for me here lately. My son is at a sleepover this weekend and the fridge is lacking. I need to get groceries before he comes home. Searched YouTube for "cheap meals to make when you are broke" and your channel came up. I love all of your ideas using such little ingredients. You've shown me that my cabinets aren't as bare as i think they are. I can make alot using what i already have. Subscribing! Thank you for sharing!

I feel like the vegetable thing is a "tell me you have never been really poor without telling me" type thing. I appreciate where they are coming from -- everyone knows it's best to have veggies if you can...But in this point of view, FED IS BEST. So we just have to be careful about our judgements.

I found your video intriguing. You took what you bought for 30.00 and made a bunch of meals out of it. People just need to use their imagination and create some pretty good meals. Thank you for sharing.

Love your extreme budget videos. Grew up with elderly grandparents and two unmarried aunts. My grandma endured the depression and often cried when we spent too much at the grocery store, worried about the following week. Lots of people are finding the increased prices hard to budget for. Your frugal videos are a great service to all of us.❤

Brooke, I am lucky to be well enough off to not have to worry about food insecurity. However, I did grow up very poor too. I love watching your videos because not only do you give me fun ideas, but you have such a great message. I really admire you and your family. You bring happiness with your videos. Thank you.

Reuploaded Video** Yesterday had technical difficulties and it was only public for a few hours. Also, Dusty's shirt isn't Military themed this time. I blurred it because it's crude, and I won't even let him wear it to my Mamaw's house. It's not bad bad, but It's just not my thing. He is laughing at me right now lol

Not every meal needs a veggie, but for anyone who may want some you could have cut up one carrot in small pieces and cook it with the chicken. A full belly when times are hard is most important than veggies sometimes.

Thanks for the inspiration! I was craving a sweet, saw your pineapple chicken and remembered I had some canned pineapple! Put a little brown sugar and cinnamon with it, put it on a toasted tortilla covered with cream cheese…and voila! Sweet warm snack!

You ate a genius creating these delicious meals on such a limited budget and actually showing how to cook them. Any newly wed needs to subscribe to your channel. I need it also even though I'm 73 but with limited resources. You always make my day!

Hey, Brooke! I think what you provide here is an amazing service to those that are struggling for whatever reasons to find a way to feed their families. I agree with your philosophy of food in your family's belly is what's important when money is very tight and hunger can be only a step away. Thank you for trying to destigmatize the reality that for some, just basic food is the priority, never mind a " healthy" or "balanced" diet. Also, thank you for showing people how they can use the items they can afford. That is valuable in and of itself. On a side note, pancake batter can also be used as batter for fried goods like chicken, or fish. Thank you for sharing! You are awesome!

Another good pantry item is powdered milk. Until recently I had never really used it but I do now.
It is great in gravy and cream sauces and will save quite a bit over using milk or evaporated milk

To make meat stretch I remember my mom making hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes or toast.
