Great solution. I use an inexpensive cover pump, definitely does a good job and I just let it do its thing and check it in 20 minutes. By that time it pumped off almost all the water

My son bought a house with a large above ground pool & he has tons of wet leaves on the pool cover. He used a pool pump that worked great to pump the water but the leaves are heavy & about a foot deep. Leaves are decomposed a bit. Do you think the shop vac could suck up this amount of leaves, or clog quickly?

Hey Nathan! I've got a pool that I constantly have to remove water from because it goes above the skimmer. I find the best way to get water out fast is to use the hoses that the pool vacuum uses to set up a siphon, like what you have going with the garden hose, just a lot bigger. Depending on the drop from the top of your pool to the ground, you could probably get a good +/- 10 gallons per minute of flow. The hard part might just be getting the siphon started for a tube with such a large diameter.
