Blown Engine - Junk Car Or Replace Engine?

I blew the engine in the S2000. I plan to replace the engine because it makes sense in this case. Often it doesn't make a lot of sense to buy a replacement engine for an old car.

I have a 2014 Ford Fusion the water pump went out caused the engine to overheat. I had it towed and had the water pump replaced. After they replaced the water pump they came back and said the engine was blown. I still owe $10000 on this car. Kelly bb list it worth 6-8000 in good condition. What would you do in this situation?

My brother just blew the engine in his blue 2006 S2K. Car is in too good of condition otherwise and worth too much for him to junk it, even though it has over 200k miles. He will be replacing the engine soon

I have a widebody 2004 Infiniti G35 coupe love this car but it just blew the motor I'm looking at 2000 dollars to fix it with all the labor and the new motor might do it

How can you lose u just have to keep the car 5k for a new engine with a good warranty seems good for the owner

When you make some of these spreadsheets, if Google Sheets has the necessary formulas, could you make them available on a Publicly shared Google Sheet? It would just be nice to get in, clone it for yourself, and start learning faster.

Thank you for your time, and enjoy your restored S2000.

There’s some numbers that you can’t add into your excel spread sheet. And that’s sentimental value. $5 grand on a 1k value car is much more deeper than what’s on the blue book.

By the size of your beard I can tell you've been hard at work with this blown engine business.

It was blown with a blower.. And now it blew up? When and how did this happen. You were running a reliable set up... What happened!

No more supercharger? Do you think you'll miss the power?

Where did you get those figures from? They seem a bit off. It all depends on where your market is... I live in California and those figures don't work here

Have you thought about getting a lift installed in your garage, considering how much you work on your car?

Just get you a cheap, low mileage, all-aluminum 5.3L off the interwebs. Hell don't the newer 5.3L's come factory with either 243 or 799 heads? If so send them out to get ported and milled, then throw a good cam in it along with some hardened pushrods, new lifters, and do a trunnion upgrade on the rockers, and that S2000 will be fast as shit and a car that you can beat on all day long without worrying too much about whether it will handle the abuse or not.

Do a J series V6 a cheap 3.5 L, add the supercharger and go for it! The engines are cheap and plentiful, and you'll do that chassis a favor.
