Personally I would trust you over any local doctor in the medical field... I almost lost my sight completely... I told my doctor all my symptoms and she gave me lipitor! I didn't take it... Instead, went on a plethora vitamin injections, vitamin d, alpha lipoic acid, nac, glycine, vitamin a... lutein, astaxanthin, zinc, copper, magnesium, potassium etc. Thanks to you, my eyes have restored to almost 20/20 vision in just 8 weeks... I am not making this up... I'll be forever grateful. Thank you so much.

I have taken a 12mg daily dose for 4 months and have noticed improved depth perception and clarity. It's amazing.

I started taking Astaxanthin about a year ago and noticed an immediate change to my night vision and dry eye. It's something I use on a daily basis now. I also sent my son a week's worth to try for himself. I should ask him about it, but I will also send this video to him.
Thank you for making your viewers aware, Dr. Eye Health! I am 62 yrs old and not on any prescription meds!

An important FYI: As a medical professional, it is important that you do not neglect to include negative effects of anything you are presenting as a remedy or preventative measure. While fairly rare, an allergy to astaxanthin and other carotenoids like cantaxanthin can be a big problem for some people, and in high doses it can cause stomach pain. It is also not recommended to take it with blood thinners, cholesterol medications or immune support medications.

when ever I hear 'May help" I have to remind myself it means exactly the same as "May not help"

I am a nutritionist and appreciate your getting the word out on nutrition and eye health. None of my eye doctors has ever mentioned these factors and they all discount it when I try to teach them. BTW, the supplements pictured in your vid are not actually asta, which, in my experience, are dark red oil caps.

Thank you for reviewing the studies on Astaxanthin. I started taking 12mg daily 11 years ago after getting some bad sunburns on glacier climbs. Also before taking I had noticed some ocular rosacea symptoms during the winter months when indoor air is very dry.

As a software engineer, I spend 12+ hours 5-6 days a week staring at screens. I haven't had a bad sunburn since I started taking Astaxanthin and my eye symptoms have also improved. (Though your other video on Omega 3s makes me think taking an Algea Omega 3 supplement also helps prevent dry eye.)

Another side benefit of taking Astaxanthin for 11 years is that I appear to be somewhat tan year-round even in cloudy Seattle. If it's enough to turn farmed salmon from grey to pink, it is likely doing that to my muscles and fat as well but at least the whites of my eyes are still white.

I have taken Astaxanthin for almost 15 years for my skin. Works great! Keeps my skin from getting burned from the sun.

Thank you for being an honest doctor and telling us about alternatives to pharma.
I no longer go to MDs because they have become glorified pharmacists, for the most part.

I love astaxanthin for my dry eyes! Restasis is now generic and Good Rx makes it reasonably priced! It definitely helps but has a few systemic effects! I also use a heated eye mask and sterile free eyedrops. Thx for the info and continuing research on dry eye!

maybe I'm trippin' out here, but I used to walk through a park (at night), it's a path I took to get home easily and I used to always had to turn on my phone's flashlight to get through the park... Now I no longer need the flashlight but can see at night easily... It's freakin trippy man (and also amazing). I think I took astaxanthin for maybe less than 1 month to notice this result.

I accidentally found this in Hawaii two years ago. I picked it up for inflammation in my knee after MCL/ACL surgery. It really seemed to help and I took it diligently about taking it, then got lazy. My knee started flaring up more often….I’m back on track now. I’ll pay more attention to how my eyes are affected as well.

Awesome! I've been waiting for more info on this! I do like having Salmon in my diet but nowadays you really have to vet your options and make sure it is fresh caught not farmed.

I'm 35 and I've been taking astaxanthin for the past 15 years. Since 2018, I've been taking 4mg-12mg every day. I now plan to take it ever single day and possibly increase my dosage.

Bit late to the party but a dermatologist on a recent Joe Rogan podcast said this was a great supplement. I decided to research it further and found this video. As I follow you already I have decided to give it a go.
