Testing the limits of the 1000W MPP Solar All In One unit with some standard household appliances

Its small and light. I've had mine mounted on a portable panel of plywood fronted with hardyboard. Plugged into it is the house freezer, phone and various as needed (a taeger bbq thing). Temporary only using one Lifepo battery; two of the 2nd hand 208w Sharp pv panels in series are perfect. All low loads. I took it out to the hay shed to power up the horse trailer batts and connected it to the silicate salt battery up there. It maintained boost voltage for hours, pv 340 watts in, a delta eco flow for a AC input if needed, load was near 100%, 950watts. So after cooking the horse trailer lead acid batts-successfully, I swapped those ( 2)5 yr old batts out for 1 Lifepo. 100Ahr batt and miraculously holding charge now. Things you can do.

Great video, I have 1012LV MS and also the MK, love them. BTW, the microwave has cooking power rating and Power consumption rating, 700W cooking power will use 1000W of power.

These little MPP solar inverter’s are pretty slick little units. I just got done installing the 3048!version. My only complaint is I don’t like how they did the bottom enclosure. Its way too tight, making wiring it a pain and I’d like the ability of connecting conduit to it. Other then that the tech is very impressive.

The fault was due to the overload. The Inverter controller can controll the overload of AC-AC bypass or ignore it, which you can chose in the options. So to make the microwave working still with first generator it was enough to switch OFF the bypass overload controll, which I believe the setting 23.

Very informative video. Thanks. Oh and you can avoid the spart by disconnecting negative terminal first and connecting negative terminal last. Works when I am working on cars and it will avoid the spark here too.

The manual says to use a 10 AMP breaker for AC in (It's hard to find this, most only go to 15 AMPS), not sure why its required when this unit already has a breaker installed? The manual doesn't state what the installed breaker AMP rating is or at least I can't find it. Do you know what it is?

Hi Good video, i did the install of that inverter, and now would like to install Solar panels, and would like to know how to program the unit to get the solar pannel delivering energy to the battery, cause on mine it shows, no input when solar in use ???? thank you for your help .

So a 12 volt solar panel (even if its a 400 Watt panel) will not work on its own? I think I heard you say that the inverter needs a minimum of 20 volts solar input?

Will this start and run a roof mounted air conditioner? I see it can run 200% for 5 seconds for starting I assume. I am trying to help my sister set up her campervan. She already has 3 100ah 12v Lithium batteries and 4 100w solar panels.

Great video! How many watts does the unit pull when it's idle and how many watts cause the fans to cut on? I'm thinking of installing this in a camper and trying to figure out how many panels I'll need and batteries.

Hi, I've been looking for a video explaining the settings on this unit. I am trying to set the inverter to send power to the load from solar first, then utility, and save batteries for when there is no solar and no utility. Hoping you could maybe assist?

Are those 3/8 lugs and a 2 awg battery cable? I wanna get the PIP-1012LV-MK at 80A for the mppt and the 60A charger to use with a 12v 200ah LiFePO battery. Should I go larger in wire with this unit and get a 0 awg or 1 awg?

Super frustrating... I LOVE the features of this unit; full double conversion, adjustable charging, ac and solar charging, ability to set and forget desired modes, etc... But the inability to run standard plug items for 2 minutes (micro, hair dryer, etc.) is a non-starter! Even buying a second paralel unit doesn't get you to a 20 amp outlet or even sustained 20 amp passthrough. *sigh*
