JS quote: "Years ago, Ridley Scott changed Blade Runner. He decided to change an ambiguous aspect of the central character to something not ambiguous at all. The movie that Blade Runner fans fell in love with because of that central uncertainty lost something because the author simply changed his mind years after the fact. I think that authors of content should leave the interpretive aspects of their narrative work alone once it goes out into the world for consumption. I think we should discuss it, argue about it, but we shouldn't try to re-frame it. It shouldn't really matter whether what's there is intentional or accidental. It's what's in the game and what the player experiences that matter."

Certainly something to think about. We don't need a definitive answer to everything.

Kill what you can't conserve, is my best guess. Joshua at that moment thinks it's best to kill Salt Upon Wounds as he'll continue to attack the Sorrows and Dead Horses, like he did with the New Canaanites.

I think he is trying to say
“Do you get to the cloud district very often, Oh what am I saying
Of course you don’t”

I choose to believe joshua was just mocking salt upon wounds and his culture as a finale goodbye to him

i saw in a no mutants allowed thread that someone interpret it as "God as my witness (kale watcha) none of you shall be conserved/spared (nei conserva oh)" and thats my favorite interpretation

Remember when the sequel to this game thought "railroad" was a clever password to get in to the underground railroad.

It looks like "kill what u cant save" and i think it supposed to signify his choice to fall to vengeance, because not only is he killing salt because he knows he wont stop his rampage, but hes killing the part of himself capable of moving on and letting go. Its tragic in a way that he has to turn himself into a monster to save his home from a monster and I allways thought honest hearts did a pretty good job of portraying that.

I’m guessing ‘Kale’ is ‘Kill’, aside from that I’m pretty stumped. I always think of its figurative meaning as something along the lines of “You get what you deserve”

"Kill what you don't keep" I think is a fair translation in my opinion. Kale means kill, "watcha" is "what you", nei seems to be a negative similar to no, and conserva shares a root with conservation which means "to keep". Put it all together and you get "kill what you no keep" or better yet "kill what you don't keep". Considering Joshua is killing a guy who's whole shtick is to salt the earth basically killing everything he doesn't keep I'd say this is an ironic F you to Salt-Upon-Wounds.

Context clue is conserva is Spanish for preserves. Given the background of the character my translation is "God watches and preserves you"

I always got the vibe it was something like "God watches, but will not save you" the fact that so many people have their own versions is amazing.
