About:
Jason and Lorraine. In 2016 we sold most of our belongings and left the city in southern California to start a small homestead in the mountains of North Carolina. We left the city in search for a more minimal and intentional life. We became passionate about growing our own food and knowing what exactly is in our food after I (Jason) became diagnosed with cancer. Now 8 years in remission we as a family are on a journey to live our passions.
We document our life on YouTube videos to inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and not be afraid of change. We started our own online general store where we have available the things we make and use in real life. Thank you for following us on this incredible life changing journey!

Hey, Great idea. We used to do this when I was growing up. two things: 1. turn your posts around so the the little nubbs are towards the panels, this will help keep them in place. 2. raise the panels up off the ground by 6 to 10 inches, vine plants will still reach it and it will prevent the panel from damaging your crop and keep them out of the way for hoeing and keep the panel clean.

Panels are our best friend around this homestead

Cattle panels are so helpful in the garden and many other ways. I like to use cattle panels as background support for banners that you need to put up. They help keep the banner nice and straight. And zip ties are the best invention. I use those suckers everywhere. Zip ties are this woman's best friend! Lol! Happy Gardening!😊

Thanks so much for this video! It’s exactly what I was looking for, so there’s no need to look elsewhere. Now it’s off to Tractor Supply for supplies. 😊

I put up 4 cattle panel trellises in much the same way, but I used more zip ties and secured the top with wire in case the ties broke or failed. Besides cukes and beans, I use them for indeterminate tomatoes (cherry, Juliets) and peas. Love watching your progress and really enjoy your music choices too.

Nice tutorial, I'm hoping to do some of these in the front yard for melons-good pointers about doing it before the plants are established and taking account the width of the panel before tposting

Vertical growing options are a must for a postage stamp sized growing area. Not only can I use this application for growing space, I can also use the cattle panel as framework for shade material to protect plants from the harsh sun where I live. Thank you so much.
