4 Reasons Why Gareth Southgate is The Most HATED England Manager Ever

Gareth Southgate is not exactly the most-loved man in England right now, and this has been the case for some time now. Despite being only the third manager to lead England to a World Cup semi-final, the first manager to lead England to a Euro final, and the first manager to lead England to a major final since 1966, he still doesn’t get so much love from England fans. Why is that? We’ll find out in this video.

Come with us as we look at 4 reasons why Gareth Southgate is the most hated England manager ever.

We need a manager who plays to win, not one who plays to not lose... Especially given the amount of attacking talent we have available.

Is he a terrible manager? Yes. Do i wish him gone? Yes. Do I hate him? No. He is incompetent plain and simple but nobody I know actually hates him

Southgate threw rashford sancho & saka to the wolves by making them take penalties in such an important game, he allowed them to take the backlash for his shortcomings & should've been sacked back then !

Making his players continuing taking the knee even after BLM had been proved to be a scam was scandalous.
And he is a massive bellend.

Making a 19 yr old kid take a penalty for a country like England in a final is messed up

Southgate should have left after Euro 2020 when he almost destroyed the careers of Rashford, Sancho and Saka with his big brain moment of bringing them for a penalty shootout. That move right there I've realized he's a loser and don't have the minerals and mentality to take England to the next level. 8 years in the job and still not finding his identity and making lame excuses for failure and then his apologists comes in to defend him. Southgate refused to evolve as a coach and stubborn to change his philosophy to end England's drought for major titles. Southgate is a tool and a loser that will never achieve greatness.

Great content, Southgate doesn't have the mentality !he scores one goal and ENOUGH, he isnt hungry for more and more goals! On the opening game, germany the only better team than england (with the chances)Won by scoring 5 goals!while england only scored 1 goal .

Some of the pathetic decisions I have seen Southgate make down the years as a manager it seems like he is deliberately trying to sabotage Englands chances of winning a tournament I know that sounds crazy but that's how bad he is

Franly as an American, I just don't get it. I remember how unfair England seemed to be against Sven Gorean Erricson. he led them to several quarter finals, adn yet the English were always seeming ot be against him. Other managers certainly did not seem to be much better. If you look at 2018 until now, only France has really done better in the WORLD cup and European championships. Yes Italy won in 2021, but how did 2018 and 2022 go? and even in 2024. In 2022 Harry Kane missed either one or two penalty kicks against France. As far as penalty kicks go, England has always done poorly there. STIFF UPPER LIP? Think about it, 1970 in Mexico, had a 2-0 lead over Germany, lost in OT. In 82, could not score in the gorup with Germany and Spain, and got elimiated that way, though never lost a game in that tournament. Lost in the semis' on Penalties in 1990 against germany, 96 in the Euros. do I have to go on.
this is the most successful coach of an English national team, except for that one time they won in 1966, and he gets dumped on.

Number 1 complaint mangers use when they fail and are given the boot is "I wasn't given the time", something Southgate can't use; 8 years and won ZERO, not even looking like they might win. Whatever team you support it's undeniable that in these past 8 years England has had the players available to win, and win consistently.

I said it then, and I say it again: Gareth Southgate is definitely not the man for England. It's unfortunate that England has never had the right manager. It's a team full of talent, but no one has ever been there to do the right thing. Unfortunate.

£5 million per year, free world travel and expenses, the cream of british footballing talent at his disposal, to get nothing but disappointment. Should not the FA look at themselves also?

I've never hated any manager as much Southgate for what he has done on and off the field.

Is it a good idea putting your centre forward in midfield with little or no reliable goal scorer up in front of him?

I have to agree with most english ppl. Southgates decisions has been more than questionable and he is not the right man for the job.

Lets just remember something, we were seconds away from facing the same kind of defeat we faced vs Iceland in 2016. If it wasnt for the extreme level of talent in our squad we were out.
