TRIVIA:
1 - This storyline was pitched around season 2. Warner Bros. Television/FOX Network wouldn't allow it. Then after 'Friends' had their lesbian wedding in their season 2, Warner Bros./FOX Network let Living Single do theirs shortly thereafter that same year (96).
2 - Speaking of Warner Bros., ironically enough, the actress that enters at 6:46 is Merrin Dungey. Her sister, Channing Dungey, would later become CEO and Chairwoman of Warner Bros. Television.
3 - Shayla's fiancée Chris is played by Tanika Ray, who also was a featured background actor as a barista on Friends.

So there's a lot of intermingling going on in this one episode. Between two Warner Bros shows competing for storylines, sisters of future Warner Bros executives acting in the scene and one actor going between both Living Single and Friends. It's so... odd.

The line about comparing a close friend to romantic partners is so real, as well as the hesitation of coming out to that person. I like that the emphasis is on Max coming to terms with her friend, rather than her friend carrying that burden.
