it has a better camera than j7prime
has a better ram management

i am using 4gb/32gb version of moto g5 plus indian unit
trust me its better than j7 prime
its better in all departments
except screen size and battery size
which is not a bummer

the reason the moto g5 camera doesnt look as good as the j7 is because you had it set to 9.1megapixels instead of 12 3:56

As a long-time customer of various cheap Sprint MVNOs (currently Tello), having a phone which is unlocked for both CDMA and GSM carriers is very important to me, so that alone would make the Moto G5 Plus my pick, if I were shopping for a new phone. (Just picked up a Moto G4 Play in February, though, so I'm not in any rush to get an even newer device yet.)

Nick if you go u to the app called Moto u can use ur fingerprint​ scanner as a home button just needs to be configured

I always appreciate your videos, Nick, especially considering your budget-friendly comparisons. For those of us who can only afford around $250 for a phone, your reviews are worth it. I think the Moto G5 Plus will be my next purchase, replacing the wife's Galaxy S4.

I don't understand the value of bootup comparisons. You turn the phone on, do something else for 20 seconds then come back to your phone.
Unless you're turning your phone off and on 10 or more times per day I really can't see bootup time being a decision maker for most phone buyers.
The only reason I turn my phone off is because it's run out of battery :)

The fingerprint reader is a home button too! Actually it's all the navigation buttons if you want it to be. Activate through the Moto App on your phone!
