I have Winston Churchill and she really is a beautiful locomotive. My most recent acquisition and runs like a dream. Thanks for sharing Matt. Roy.

I love the streamlined locos (A4s and the as yours is done), and lovely coaches to go with it! Nice session!

Reminds me of the times when SR locos used to work over the GWR line to the West country for route learning purposes in case their own line via Okehampton was ever blocked.

The wheels are called Boxpok wheels. A Boxpok is a steam locomotive wheel that gains its strength through being made of a number of box sections rather than having traditional solid spokes. Being hollow, they allow better counterbalancing than conventional drivers, which is important for fast locomotives.

This steam locomotive looks really nice. I’m getting this steam loco model with my dad. Cheers from Josh

I have a soft spot for Southern Railways locomotives as well. These locomotives are really interesting to look at and the other Southern Railways locomotives tend to be interesting as well.

Nice looking Battle of Britain visting locomotive 34051 Winston Churchill as I'll give it a 11 over 10 plus under the name plate I will correct you by saying elbum tho if you want to call it a plack, which ever way it's a stunning southern steam locomotives for Jubliee Road. JJ

The Southern Pacific's all have Boxpok wheels ( may have spelled that wrong ). They were forged by Firth Brown specialist steels Sheffield. They are odd but I think they suite the Southern Pacifics

While I'm not a fan of Southern engines, it's not uncommon for a Bullied Pacific engine to haul BR Maroon coaches on the Main Line in real life. This case of mix and match also happens on preserved railways. On the Severn Valley Railway, for example, 7802 Bradley Manor has hauled BR Maroon/LMS Maroon coaches, and 80079 has hauled GWR Chocolate & Cream coaches. So Winston Churchill on holiday on Jubilee Road looks the part with Chocolate & Cream Mk. 1 coaches. The liveries of steamies and coaches don't always have to match each other.

Boxpok wheels. More widespread on American railways. Oddly, America also had a Southern Railway rather than Railroad.
Bullied spent some time in the USA studying American techniques.
