Video on an Oscar winner who has been making movies for 6 decades. Good pick. Seen many of these movies. Favorites include #25 Going In Style...not a great movie...but a fun movie with some legendary actors. #18 Freebie and the Bean...one of the first cop buddy movies. #16 Seven Percent Solution....great idea for a movie....I bet it gets remade in the near future. #11 Catch 22....though it turns to dark at the end #10 The In-Laws....one of Roger Ebert's favorite comedies. #9 Gross Point Break...great Cusack role. #7 Wait Until Dark...one of his best roles. and #1 movie about movies...sign me up...lol. I have seen 26 of the movies listed here and 34 when looking at my Arkin page that has 61 movies ranked. Voted up....shared. Good video.

His best movie was " The Other Side Of Hell". Though most people don't know about that one. Incredible movie though with many amazing actors. Including "The Man With No Eyes" from Cool Hand Luke and Star Trek.

I have seen 9 Alan Arkin movies. The lowest ranked film I have seen is Popi. Little Miss Sunshine is on my to-see list. I have tried to watch Catch-22 more than once, but have stopped near the beginning because of the violence. Maybe someday I will see the whole film.

Favourite movies are Wait Until Dark, The In-Laws, The Russians Are Coming The Russians Are Coming, The Seven-Percent Solution, and Edward Sissorhands. I have also seen the aforementioned Popi, Hearts of the West, Glengarry Glenn Ross, and The Heart is a Lonely Hunter which broke my heart it is so sad.

Favourite posters and stills are from Argo, Edward Sissorhands, The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, Wait Until Dark, The In-Laws, Catch-22, Hearts of the West, The Russians Are Coming The Russians Are Coming, The Seven Percent Solution, The Rocketeer, Freebie and the Bean, Popi, Indian Summer, Havana, Get Smart, and the final portrait.

There are alot of terrible movies some I've never heard of, but there were some spectacular successes. One was a made for television Canadian production taking place in Toronto about some dreadful medical mixups which Arkin sets to right by going into their computer system and making convincing changes so it will all come out right. By far his finest performance was Russians are Coming in the mid 1960s that was so very believable with an all star cast at their best.
