Hi, thanks for your message. This is the value of the parameter in the population as a whole. Alternatively, you can think of the population parameter as the 'true' parameter you are trying to estimate. Hope that helps! Ben

Hello. I am a little confused here. Does econometrics try to find the amount of sample parameter or population parameter or both? If just for making an inference about the population parameters, then what are the common tools for measuring sample parameters? For examples basic statistics or mathematics? Thanks
