A few tips. No need to tap the edges when screeding.

Don't trowel when so much bleed water on top, it permanently weakens the surface. Let the bleed water mostly evaporate before trowel

Broom was much too early. Let it go off more for a more refined finish

renting a cement mixer makes it 10x easier you can mix 3 bags at a time in the bigger ones. I did a 10x12 slab in a few hours by myself for a shed.

Plant “Creeping thyme” in between the cracks so once it flourishes, each step will release a minty scent. Balance the inert concrete with harmonious flowers!

I find it easier to add the water first. Especially as a woman. The mix tends to stick to the wheel barrow and clump and makes it harder for me to hand mix especially when doing 3-4 bags at a time.

I did a similar setup on my patio using large blue stone pieces 30inch x 30inch they had a few inch gap in between. After using it I found the gaps to be troublesome, if you didn’t put your chair in the same spot it get stuck In between the gaps, or you couldn’t sit the way you wanted. I ended up adding more blue stone and butting them altogether.

Pro tip get a bag of straight Portland and add one shovel full for every bag of quickcrete fora creamier concrete.

Have you ever tried mixing one 60lb bag of concrete in a contractor leaf bag? + 1 gallon milk jug of water? No mess, No shoveling just rock the bag back and forth for about 10-15secs and pour directly out of bag. There is a reference on YouTube. Nice job btw!
