How anesthesiology residency is run

The 4-year anesthesiology residency program at Mt. Sinai Hospital trains about 100 residents simultaneously. In this video, I talk with the department's senior leadership to understand the complexities of running such an enormous operation that turns new doctors into board-certified anesthesiologists.

You have been a great teacher and have drawn back the curtain on the mysteries of anesthesiology for millions of potential and actual patients. I have been an ACLS certified paramedic for many years, placed more than my fair share of ET tubes in the field, and learned a great deal about the medicine involved in your specialty.
